Default ACCESSORY POWER- 2001 1500 RAM / GASOLINE

HI THERE,

SO IF I FORGET AND LEAVE IT ON,IT WILL SHUT OFF WHEN I PULL THE KEY.
ALSO,IDEAS ABOUT RUNNING THE ANTENNA CABLE . I HAVE A MAG MOUNT RIGHT NOW AND THE CABLE GOING THROUGH THE DOOR SEAL.
THANKS, ROBERT ...ELKO,NEVADA

I powered my satilite radio from a wire behind the CD player. I ran my CB antenna wire through a gromet in the door piller. I put my CB on a 12 volt plug so I could remove it when I'm not travelling with fellow RVers.

a simple and fairly clean way is to run a wire over to the fuse panel on the end of the dash and then use a 'fuse tap' or 'add a fuse' into a existing slot. these are available at your local auto parts store in the fuse section.

CB antenna - i bought the long wire, about 18', and ran it through the big hole in the firewall, back under the cab, and up between the bed and cab to a mounting bracket that i made.

Thats a mighty nice find there dhvaughan. I have mine rigged up through the cigarette lighter, but will do a more permanant solution this summer. I like how simple that sounds, because I was actually gonna run a wire from the battery in through the grommet and do it that way.... but, idk if I like the idea of runnin power next to my antenna lines. yay swr! I have a pc 78 elite cb (peaked n tuned ), co-phase harness, custom bed mount brackets (kinda like bed cap brackets), and dual 4ft firestik's.

I installed an in line fuse and a plug to fit the cig. lighter. Easy to take in and out.
