Default Wont Start

Well, about a month ago I was driving down the highway and then it just quit. Brought it into the shop they said it had a cracked distributor and water got down in there and made everything bad. so replaced all the plugs and new wires and distributor. Also he told us that the fuel pump was going out, and it would back fire and quit if you pushed hard on the gas. It backfired a lot and that but it ran for a day. Then it would not start again. Brought it into a shop, i took off the fuel tank, looked at the fuel pump and it looks okay, there was a crack and a kink in the gas line going out of the gas tank, I replaced that, there is 35 psi of gas at the engine. but it will not start. Any ideas? Need it fixed by 17th for Graduation... Thanks A Lot.

sry... it just keeps cranking over and you can smell gas a lot.. The battery is old but I hooked it up to our charger and it just keeps cranking over.

When my truck wouldn't start, it turned out to be the coil. It was an accel coil, so whatever you do don't buy one. hope this helps a little bit.

Also check the Cam Position Sensor in the distributor and the Crank Position Sensor. Both can cause the engine not to fire.

what year is your truck?
35 psi is about right for a 94-95 but low for 96+

Any spark from the coil?

Did you check all the fuses?

On my 94' W/T 1500. My plenum went bad. Completely goe! Truck truck would crank for days an never start. Once I replaced that no problems. Might want to look into that. My buddy over at the stealership said to look at it too.

their was spark from my coil too, but the problem was the spark was firing at the wrong time. Do you still have the stock coil on your truck?

yes I do, I could go pick up a new one tomorrow. Also, it puts once in a while when cranking it.
