Default Glasspacks??? or Flowmaster??

im getting an exhaust put on my 01 dodge ram 1500 this saturday and i was wondering if i should get glasspacks or flowmaster super 40. i talked to the guy today and he said he can put glasspacks on with dual exiting behind rear tires and 4" tips for $250 and im not sure if i want that because i dont want it to be annoying loud and i dont even know if it will sound good but he did say they are louder than flowmaster??? he alsosaid that i can also get the same setup but with the flowmaster super 40 he gave me a price of $350? i thought about going with glasspacks and if i dont like it, ill go back the next week and get the glasspacks taken off and get the flowmaster super 40. (itll basically even out with $$$$ wise if i do that) but im not sure what to do???? so what do yall think???

I think for true power effect, you should go with the flowmaster, I have a super 40 on my truck and I love it, its a real mellow deep sound at idle, but when you really want it goin, it hits hard, and crushes most others on the market. Its almost a perfect match for a magnum engine. What do you have, 5.2 or 5.9? I have the 5.2, manual tranny, so I love it, and the power increase and gas mileage that I got out of it after was incredible. Good luck with it either way, and post up sound clips when you get it. I love to listen to the deep rumble of a nice dodge.

I'd go with the super 40.

It sounds really deep on these trucks. If I have a flowmaster 40 original and i'm pretty happy with the way it sounds. There's nothing else done to my exhaust and it does all right.

I like my 40 series. I think it's the original as I was just told it was a 40 series.

I had a glasspack on my 1995 Dakota with the 5.2. It was a custom cat-back system with a single large glasspack to dual 2.25" pipes.

I like my current Flowmaster 44 better. Sounds better.

EDIT: Edited for grammar mistake.
