Condensation
Hi all, I accidentally posted in a white smoke post thats from last year.. lol sorry, i actually accidentally posted something that was work related. go figure, multitasking lol.. anyways.. Here's my question..
Today when I startted my truck I noticed allot of white smoke.. No smell other than regular exhaust smell so its just water evaporating I guess. It goes away after a while of driving ( to normal operating temps), Noticed water dripping out of my exhaust, Could there be a leak somewhere in my mufler system thats allowing water do get into it? I know enough now to be all paranoid about every single noise and whatnot that comes from my truck.. Seems to be happening more after I did the seafoam bit last week.. Any ideas? engine runs great, seeing improved performance after seafoaming it, allot less sparck knocking as well.

RE: Condensation
Head gasket eh? Any other tell-tale signs that might point you in that direction? Foamy white junk on the oil filler cap? No sweet smell to the exhaust? Bubbling in the radiator (with the cap off?)
If you are curious, you can always rent a cheap compression tester from Autozone, just run the compression on each cylinder, see if you might have a big difference in 1-2 of them. I hope its just the condensation in the muffler for your sake..haha.
On a side note, I recently gutted my CAT, and a TON of condensation/water came pouring&smoking out of my exhaust, but after 200 miles of running, its dry and normal. Dont know if that has anything to do with it, but just a unique observation based on my experience.
Good luck!!

RE: Condensation
Oil is not white and foamy, I checked the cap and the dip stick.. Also interesting item of note.. My Alternator Ground wire seems to be jacked :-( was really hot and fuming.. engine it's self ran fine,,exhaust smoke went away after 3-4 minutes of driving, Im not gonna drive the truck anymore untill I find out whats going on. Like I said before I didnt really notice any coolant smell from the smoke.. Could the alternator ground ( seems to be loose) have an odd effect on the fuel injection system by any chance? lol I'll probably buy a compression test kit, they have them at harbor freight tools and see if I have something wrong with the head or gasket,, and pray to god not a cracked block lol
