That thread has some good info on why you don't want one of those motors.

The automotix site seems to be a better option imho. 175 shipping plus just under 2k for a rebuilt 360 seems like a good deal to me! I spent 2k rebuilding my 2.0l in my talon a few years and that i did not use too many forged parts! So 2k for a V8 seems damn good too me!

Well, I'm curious. What kind of transmission runs the carb'ed blocks?

Don't people usually use 727's?

Oh I have no idea to be honest. I got into the GM transmissions a little bit with my Nova, but with Chrysler all I know is mine should be a 46re. I haven't got into the history or anything about them. Is the 727 what they used for the Cuda's and Daytona's? I figure if so, it's similiar to the TH350, which is a solid, but not quite performance driven transmission. I had one with my carb inline 250. Actually couldnt sleep last night thinking about how bad I wanted to turbo that thing, lol.

the 5.2 and 5.9 are the same block the 5.9 is just bored/stroked out so clearance wouldnt be a problem but you would have to replace the computer and some other stuff
