7 days ago I put $20 reg gas in my truck. Engine would not start. Strong battery. Turned over good. Towed to garage. It sat overnite and next morning mechanic said it started right up. He didnt have an answer to what caused it. Ran and started good for a week. Today it did the same thing after getting $10 gas at a different place. I am letting it sit there overnite to see if something changes and try to start it up. For years it has only needed the turn of the key to start. Has this happened to anyone and what is causing it. It has 240K miles on it. Great truck except for that.[]

 

Bump and moving to 2nd Gen, but I thought they only had 5.2 and 5.9s?

 

I don't know if I can help you with the problem, but 94rt10ohio is correct, unless some sort of custom conversion was involved, the truck either has a 3.9L V6, a 5.2L V8, or a 5.9L V8.

There's been no "Check Engine" light coming on? Have you checked the computer for stored codes?

 

have you changed your fuel filter lately??? if you only stick 10 to 20 dollars in gas how low are you running your tank ?? you could have a bad screen on your ful pump and running it low will suck it all up in the fuel filter and plug it up .your fuel pump could be acting up . when it happens again try to cycle you pump ( turn your key on and off a few times you should hear your pump turn on )
