Default Big boost on loan

Have some good news after a long stint. As some of you know the truck is finally up and running again (amen). But the big news is the loan. With the transmission costing $4,000 I've been paying $98 every month. It's a 4 year loan. Well with all of the tax returns and IRS checks, I got back $1800. I put it al towards my loan as well. So in 2 months, I have paid off $2,000. I am very happy about this, that loan has been cut in half in 2 months. I can probably be out of this loan within a year because I'll be working 55 hours a week during the summer and I'm just devoting most of my money towards that loan. A 4 year loan finished in a year would be a great accomplishment, and will be a very nice luxury when it comes time to purchase a house or a small car in the future. As tempting as it was to put it towards my truck, I feel much better that I did the right thing.

Good to hear. When it's paid off. Take your monthly payment and start saving for an emergency fund.Say 3 months of living expenses. Or start paying off your other debt.

Just one piece of advice on this one pay at least 13 payments that way it shows history and will help your credit out a lot more than anything under a year.

This is totally off topic.[:'(] Here I was, looking to see if you borrowed a supercharger, and you're talking about loan payments. Try www.accountantforum.com for that.

I would just pay it off as soon as possible like he seems to be doing. That way he pays less interest. If he keeps paying payments one at time he will end up paying a lot more in interest than he would if he got it payed off a year earlier.

Holy **** guys, I was wrong. I am getting $2,300 back from taxes. And then another $600 from the IRS. A total of $2,900. For now though I just put in $2,300, and then when I get the IRS back, I'm putting that $600 in. This is really awesome=)

I know man, it really feels nice that I won't have to think about it. It's awesome having it back on the road. I'm already back to wanting to do more stuff to the truck though. I would really like to upgrade to 4.56 gears. I am going to ask the mechanic who came to my house how much he wants for each axle. I would be psyched if he would do each axle for about $100 or so. I love having my truck back though, makes me a very happy man. I nominated you in the TOTM by the way.

I saw that. Thanks. I was hoping we could get 2 second gens in but then I later noticed that it said Badassr/t or whatever would automatically be in it and 2 others were nominated. If I don't get in this month maybe I will next month. I appreciate you nominating me. I think we need more 2nd gens in there each month.
