Fog lamps
Hi, Well Since ive had this truck, the fog lamps never worked, so today I decided to check them out , because I just assumed they were burnt.. Looks like their not burnt.. I did a 'relay shuffle' still nothing, Checked the 15 amp fuse, looks fine.. Is it time for a PITA wire trace and checker or is there something I'm missing?
You might want to first try applying 12v from the battery directly to them, not going through the fog lamp switch. It is possible that they are burnt even though they don't appear to be. It is also possible that the fog lamp switch is bad. If the lights will come on when the direct 12v is applied, I would check the switch next since you've already checked the relay and fuse. If the lights don't come on when applying the direct 12v, then they may just both be burnt and just need new bulbs.
You might want to attach a fuse inline with the test feed you connect to the battery. This way if you accidentally contact the truck and it shorts out, it will blow the fuse before too much damage is done. This will also protect in the same way if the fog lights are shorting out, but that isn't very likely, but not impossible. If you are not used to working with electrical circuits, you may want to get someone to help. Just take your time and be careful and definitely don't be wearing any jewelry while you do this, and all should be good.

Im such a dumb*ss..... NM, I figured out the problem. lol I always assumed that turnign the headlight switch once should have turned the fog lights on.. well appearently I have to turn and pull.. My bad,, they work fine.. baaaa I feel like such a dummy

Yep glad you got it fixxed. I would have told you that you had to pull the switch out after you turned the headlights on but I didn't even think of something like that. I was thinking more into it and trying to think of what it could have been thinking it was a wiring issue.
Hey Ron333,
What size MT wheels are those? I'm guessing 15x10's?
Those 37" meats look awsome on those wheels. I had 35x12.5x15's on my '98 Dodge and loved the look. I hate that you gotta go 17" minimum on the 3rd Gens. Even with my 35" FCII's they look puny to me on 17" wheels. I guess that's the trade off for better stopping power.
I can't believe all the yahoos on the 3rd gen side getting 20's & even 22's on their 4x4's. They mustn't ever venture off the pavement.
