Default Quick need help with brake controller

I need to buy a brake controller for my truck, I found one that is from a 2003 ram 2500, will the plug in be the same on my 97 ram 2500? I read somewhere it was the same for 96+ is that true?

I use a Prodigy and it had a plug in adaptor that plugged straight into the panel that comes with trucks with the "towing package". There is only one adaptor for Dodge for Prodigy, so if the one in question also uses that panel, should be good to go.

brake controller is the device that sends electrical signal to trailer brakes. They are usually located on the dash underneath the steering wheel.

I'm pretty sure all controllers are the same. If you have the towing package that plug adapter would make things a lot easier but if not any can be wired up.
