Default Just noticed this...

I'm new to the Ram scene and recently purchased a 96 1500 SLT Lariat ext cab long bed with 42k miles . When the key is in the acc. position (key in backwards position) I noticed the power windows are inoperable. They only work with the key in the start position. Is this normal or is my wiring screwed up? Every vehicle I've ever owned with power windows has always allowed me to roll the windows down with the key in the backwards/acc position.

Sounds normal, I guess its so you dont drain your battery with those heavy motors in the door while in the accesory switch. The other way would be optimal tho.

They're all like that, but you can modify it so the switch is hot all the time.

Power Window "Fix"

Window "Fix" 2

It's an electrical crimp connector. Here's a link to a picture of a non-insulated one. Male spade connector
