Anyone know off hand how much they should be tightened?
85 ft-lbs. , nice tool to have is an cordless impact and a TQ wrench..
When I worked a shop he bought a IR cordless impact and while it did okay I never was super impressed with that thing. I like the air impact guns much better. A quality torque wrench hover is a nice thing to have.

BTW are you sure it's 85ft lbs? I've always tightened them to 100. I thought thats what the charts we used to have at work said to do on 1500 Rams although I'm not 100% sure.
The manual says 80 -110 ft-lbs , So you pick .. Snap on , dewalt makes a very nice impacts , cost a few $$$ but you get what you pay for... Rember to put a dab of grease on the lugnut threads...

ive used 4 craftsman jackstand and they held up the whole truck, make sure ur on a level surface, for the rear place on the axle on each side, for the front, rite on the control arm where it pivots, this where i had them and they sat fine for a week, thats how long i had to wait for parts for the tranny, and the jack would work fine on the rear just place it under the axle, if u dont have the tools to torqe ur lugs, just make em nice and tight run around a few miles then retighten if neccesary and u should be good to go, i tighten with impact then manual 4 way

Sigh now everyone is saying it's going to be too much of a pain to bother swapping tires and its not worth it. My friend's dad (mechanic) says I should just drive my friends truck around, the one with the 265's, to see how mine will be. He said it will basically be the same plus a little since I've got the 5.9 and he has the 5.2. The plan was originally to swap and keep it for a week or so to see how it performs compared to the 285's, but most likely I'll be buying and throwing on 265's in the near future (bday coming up[8D]). Now I have to look for some aggressive looking tires, I wonder if it is worth ordering online and bringing them to the shop to do.

Ok I think we're still planning to do the swap.

Do you only buy wheels that you could buy in person or do you go for ones online? I don't have the tools to put new tires on my wheels so I'd have to bring it to a shop to do that so I wonder if its better to just see what tires the shop has and pick from that or order ones online and bring them there.
