in the mean time ive been looking for engines for fun
and i came across the 360 buit with 395 hp and 400tq for 5 grand that seems pretty good. I might have to scrap mine completely and get that. Easily go over 450 with that

That sounds like one of those crate motors you don't want in these trucks. I posted a link in another thread about motors to PS where they were talking about why you don't want these. The guy from South East RT or Performance or whatever was in that thread talking about them too.
If it was me and I had the money and time a 408 stroker would be getting built right now.

Those HP and torque numbers usually are arrived at when used with a 4 barrel carbureator setup. If I had to do it over again, I myself would also go with the 408 stroker.

Well I got my truck back today, turns out the waterpump went. Im really not sure how it could have made such a horrible sound, and the spray on the top of my hood and all over the pullies was burnt anti-freeze. I feel like an idiot after finding this out, but I guess its a live and learn thing. Im really glad i dont have to buy another engine. Though that 408 gets me happy in my pants. Really though, the sound i heard was like screeching death. I never would have thought that the stuff on my hood wasnt oil, looked just like it, but then again i checked my seals and gaskets and they were good.
