Ha, well welcome to my world. Been chasing my tail with ping since I bought it almost 7 years ago. When I tried Autolites, they seemed ok with the deathflash, but when I installed the Hypertech, the pinging went through the roof. I switched back to Champion Truck plugs and run 89 and it runs alot better. I have pretty bad ping now again from all the winter driving and idling but will run MCCC and Seafoam soon.

That's interesting Mopowar, I'll have to try pouring it into the cylinders. Last time I did both products in the TB and brake line, nothing really changed and had very little smoke.

Mine has a purdy bad sparck knock as well, mostly in OD and going uphill/under load. Using 92 octane right now and adding Octane booster helps allot, but cant afford that for too much longer with prices the way they are, Im planning on changing the throttle body gasket so I can take a better look inside,, if no oil, ima change the plug wires and cap.. Since I changed the plugs to NGK ( forgot which kind, but went with my Part store suggestion) didnt show any diffrence in knock.. I did do seafoam once, which seems to have helped a bit, Im gonna do it again to see if it will help more? Also running 7MM wires now, gonna 'upgrade' to 8 mm see if that helps, meh

The Champions are what come stock in these trucks and imo the best option.
and in just about everyone elses as well..... you know what i love is when the dumbass at the counter pulls the part on his puter and they say it doesnt come up for champ coppers, they tell you the plat is much better for your truck.. then you spend 4 minutes telling him he's a moron and that the computers info is only as good as the moron that put in the data is... then finally when you give him the part number after going and looking under your hood (or check your iphone and get it and blow the old farts mind) then once he brings out the box that the computer says and compares the plug to what you had him pull he'll say ill be damned itll fit....

dont you love how when you ask for wiper blades they ask what size engine you have...... ah min wage should be lowered...
