1 ton axle swaps help
Alright looking into to doing this is there any write ups or helpful links anyone knows of? and do i pick up both axle assemblies front and rear any help is much appreciated!
Your question really wasn't that specific.
What axles are you swapping in?There are quite a few different combinations used in 1 ton applications. Are you looking 70 rear / 60 front, 14 b rear / 60 front, 60's F/R ? Beyond that are you planning on running the stock link setup design in the front and leaves in the rear?
It boils down to this, you have to find the front and rear axles you want, gear them to match, get the suspension / steering setup (which might require custom fabrication), get the brakes setup, and then find yokes to mate to your current driveshafts, or conversion U-joints, or get new driveshafts with the correct size joint on them.
What portion specifically were you asking for help on?

I would head over to Pavement Sucks.com. Lots if guys there have done those swaps and most are well documented. I would do a forum search before asking questions thereor you might get a hard time from the regulars.
thanks for the link very helpful as far as the setup was looking 60 f and 70 rear. going to be doing the susp, and re gearing too looking at 4.88s to put in the new axles
