i was recently in a incident, hit the ramp with the driver corner of my 2001 dodge ram, and all my gears shifted, drive is in neutral, and i have to lift the gear handle to park to remove the key of the ignition. Those anyone know how to fix this.

 

i get very angry, when i put my car in drive and its in neutral or in park and in reverse, i have been told about a cable,but don't know much.

look under the steering wheel for a white plastic wheel. it adjusts the tension on a small cable that goes up to the prndl indicator. turn the wheel, which moves the indicator and make it line up to the proper place.

this may be sort of a patch. the way you have to lift up on the lever is an indicator that something in the linkage may be knocked out of whack.
