Thanks for jumping aboard ..
Im fairly new toDF and hope you will welcome my question ....with the expertise I've been reading about . I am the proud owner of a 96 1500 et-cab 4x4 with a awesome 5.9... It has 193K and runs stong and doesn't use a drop of oil ..
The tranny however is tired and groaning ..I figure its time for a rebuild ..or swap ...with that said ....Im looking at a tranny out of a 94 -2500 with a 5.9 in it ,,,,,that was recently rebuilt ...with only 8k on it ,,,I figure ,,,Not Bad ! !.This is where your wisdom comes in ... Im told the 94-95s are different than the 96,&97s....Fact or Fiction??? Are there any changes or major modifcations that will cause me to have an anurism,,,,computer conflicts?, ect, or are they all the same and a snappedto change out ???...Your response is greatly appreciated..

94-95 is a ODB I , 96 on up is a OBD II
94-95 use the RH trans , 96 on up use the RE trans (RH-hydro ,RE electic ... So no cant use it , Yes you would have alot of PCM issues !!! LOL...
