muffler situation / exhaust
i just dropped off my truck at the shop , i bought the parts myself and there going to install them for me, i bought the magnaflow highflow cat, cherry bomb extreme, and 2 24 inch tips. now my prob is, that the one i bought is si/do. and the guy said that its a little small its 2 1/2 in and 2 1/4 out duels. he said i wont get the best of airflow. will this make my truck quitier, or not perform as well ??? anyone
Yea, I would have probably opted for the 3"SI to 2.5"DO version, but with the high flow cats you may need a little backpressure for the low end torque. It may actually work out well, and I seriously doubt that it would make it any quieter.
I'm actually thinking of going to the Cherry Bomb Vortex when my Flowmaster 50HD wears out, but I've only heard the Vortex and of course the Glass Packs myself. I'd love to hear a sound clip of your Extreme when it's done...

The 3" SI to 2.5" DO would have been better, but 2.5" SI to 2.25" DO will still be better than stock.
Definitely hook us up with a sound clip when it gets done.

yeah will do , he said he will make something work out. but i will post a clip up . what does the size of the pipe do. its on 1/4 of an inch smaller, does it really make a diffrence. ????
oh and i had to call around too about 6 places ,for a shop too even touch the cat. and surprisingly meiunike is going to install my muffler, cat and duel tips for 250 $ cant wait tooo get her back
they just called and told me that the cat isnt going to fit. so i guess im not getting the cat installed
it wont fit on my 2000 , but will fit on the older ones , he said i would need a 3 inch single in single out.

Ah yes, one of those. It seems Dodge/Chrysler made some factory changes around 1999 or 2000 on some of their Rams. Mine was the same way, 3" SI 3" SO, even though every book I've seen on the subject claims that Dodge/Chrysler never changed it from the smaller DI to smaller SO.
