Default Transmision level

Hi everybody. I have a 00' Laramie SLT,5.9. I'm checking the transmission fluid level and looks overfilled. It is between the "s" in the dipstick. I check in neutral at normal operation temperature. I have a little leak in the pan. When some days passed, the transmission begins to slipped. Inmediatly I put some fluid on it and works fine. Where is the real level in the dipstick? Is between the two marks? The XXXXXXXX zone? If so, what is happening with my transmission? Is damaged?

Look at your dipstick again, rember trans fluid will expand when hot , how many known that ??? running it over filled just as worse as under filled , Mite got some damage then again maybe not time will tell...but if its running fine i wouldnt worry about it , keep an eye on the fluid..

I checked the dipstick maybe 10 times today. The same. The problem is that my wife is driven my RAM now because we sold her car and not buy a new one yet. Women never looks at the dash and she won't notice if the tranny don't shift or is running at 45 miles and 4000 RPM. I'm pretty sure she will damage my tranny if I not solve this problem. I have a quarter of fluid in my RAM and inmediatly when I notice the problem, stop the car and put some fluid. She won't do it,..for sure.. so bye RAM

Wifes are hell on cars/ trucks , when she gets home check again , or before she takes it again , check .. if the trans temp comes on , then it will not matter , it will be toast.. how much fluid are you using ? see it leaking anywhere ??

I would drop the pan and fix it before it become a real problem. Good to change the fluid and filter as well. Its a pain to do, but it might save you problems in the future, there is a pretty good "Do it yourself" write up on this forum. Tooke me too long to do mine because I did it in my apartment complex, and they dont techniocally allow people to work on their cars there, so I had to be sneaky about it. also, transmission fluid stinks.. also, Make sure your using ATF +4

I bought this car 8 month ago and the first thing I did was replaced the transmission kit (fluid, filter, gasket etc). I'm not sure what kind of fluid I put. It was something synthetic. I choose the more expensive at Auto Zone. I will check what I put and if is necessary I will replace.
