Default My ongoing Tranny saga

Ok now we have yet again a new problem. When my truck shifts into OD, usually around 40-42mph, its fine, when i throttle up slowly about 1/4 throttle it will not downshift, but the truck bucks and makes banging sounds as if it was trying to downshift, yet stays locked in OD. HOwever if i press the pedal down to about 3/4 rather quick, it downshifts fine, its only the gradual acceleration when this occurs. any ideas?

Anyone know the band adjustments on this particular truck? and does it have anything to do with OD. I have been having an ongoing problem of highway travel where the OD unlocks frequently hitting bumps and also when im using the Cruise causing it to slip. Any help or insight on these issues would be greatly appreciated. The dealer still says theres nothing wrong with it (4 times now its been in there for this)

Also if i hammer the gas, it shifts perfectly up to whatever speed i choose to let off. Its rare i do that, but im just making sure my tranny is not completely hosed, it only slips out of OD or locks in as stated above at 40-45mph on low acceleration

I have a similar issue with my 2001 RAM 4X4 360. How do you check the TPS? After checking do you have to unplug the battery or anything?

you can pull it out and put an ohm meter across it, then move the arm through it's full range and make sure there are no area's where it opens up... should be steady increase in resistance...
