***3 inch lift question***
hello, i just bought front 3 inch coil spacers, rear add-a-leaf kit, and 4 longer shocks. all rough country. the full kit from rough country includes upper/lower control arms, sway bar drop brackets, and a track bar drop bracket. my question is, are these parts an absolute must???
thanks

YES THEY ARE, IF YOU RAISE THE FRONT WITH SPRINGS IT WILL SEND THE TIRES INWARD, KINDA LIKE USING A JACK IN THE CENTER OF THE TRUCK, IF YOU JACK IT UP THE WHEELS DROP AND SLIGHTLY GO INWARD, LONGER SWING ARMS LET THE WHEELS STAY STRAIGHT AS YOU RAISE IT WITH THE SPRINGS, IF YOUR GOING JUST FOR A RAISED LOOK, GET THE 3 INCH BODY SPACERS AND THE BUMPER KITS, ITS AROUND 1300 DOLLARS INSTALLED AND LOOKS GREAT.
He already bought it so unless he can return it I would stick with that not go with a Body lift plus the Body Lifts look cheap and don't do much other than allow for bigger tires. They look ok if you use a small one in combination with a suspension lift. I would stick with the suspension lift and install all the parts.
those parts are important, but if you have a solid axle front end the new springs should not cause major toe in like it would if you lifted a independant fromnt end . steer away from the body lift if you can. these trucks have alot of weight to them so if you do end up with a body lift look into making stronger mounting plates for the body mounts. just my 02
thanks everyone,
i called rough country and they said i do need all the parts. i ordered everything i needed straight from them. they were very helpful. i found out the hard way it is less expensive to buy a full kit, rather than trying to piece it together. in my case i spent about $70.00 too much.
