I run mobil 1 syn. in my 2002 lincoln continental and it has 99xxx and doent burn a drop of oil. And in my ram I just got it has ran mobil 1 since it was new in 96 and has 153xxxmiles and doesnt burn any oil so im sticking to the stuff.
also this ram had synthetics ran through the tranny most of its life and the tranny is orig. with 153xxx it was changed every 25k
so my vote is for mobil 1

You know, 30 or so years ago they said to change your oil every 6000 miles or 6 months, whichever came first. I'm sure the oil back then wasn't as good as today's oil and now they tell us to change it every 3000 miles. Do you think the change was brought on by the oil companies so we'd use more oil?
Something to think about.

It's not the oil these days ya gotta worry about guys, it's the filter. The oils will go for as long as the manufacturer says it will, but they neglect to tell you the filter is full and doing nothing after about 3-5kmiles or so, which is why we do the oil changes. Now if ya wanted to just change your filter and top it off instead of a full change every 3-5k, that works fine.
Or do one better and geta "Ultra oil filter" for your rig. Google search for them, there billet aluminum and filter with surgical stainless steel, not paper, AND they filter ALL the time, not just at idle. All that means that you actually can go longer on your changes. They last a lifetime too, yours, not your cars! I have one, and use Royal Purple. I've used all the oil brands in my time, and RP is the only one to everback up there performance gains. I love the stuff, and use all there products in my tranny, diffs, transfer case....all of it.
Here's a link for the worlds greatest filter.....LOL, but there are other dealers out there.

stay away from rotella, I've had nothing but bad experience with it. Recently at the farm we hired a new mechanic, we always used citgo brand oil, and he decided to change the oil in the semi, one tractor, and one forklift. The truck began using a quart a day, the tractor is now getting new main and rod bearings, and the forklift is in the field locked up, maybe just a coincidence???? You decide
