Default Gas mileage challenge!

With gas topping over 4 dollars in my town this weekend ive been doing everything i can to bump up my mpg. A thread a couple weeks ago on gas mileage came to a general agreement that the best way to boost gas mileage was to drive like grandma.

So heres my challenge: try for one week to stretch the best mileage out of your truck as you possibly can. Post what you get on a normal tank and then what you got during your trial tank. Also let us know what you changed to get your results.

To work and back I usually get 14 to 17.5, have gotten as high as 19 one time. 25 miles one way and two little towns to go through, about 3000 population each. On the road I have got 21 staying at 65 MPH, 15 at 80 to 85.

I get 14.5 city (12 stoplights on the way to work) mainly because of the open element intake, msd and I got 1.5 MPG from the fitch. But the open elelent got me the most with 2.5 MPG.

Thats 14.5 city with the mods listed below. 24# injectors...thats pretty decent.

i have tried the grandma gas conserving method and i don't notice any difference compared to NORMAL acceleration. of course if your the guy squakin em light to light you will save gas by cutting this out but under normal acceleration compared to grandma acceleration i don't notice enough of a difference in gas to say it's worth pissin everyone else off who's behind you in a day, don't forget it is legal to carry guns in the us!!!
I have a 99 ram 1500 4x4 5.9l.
