trucks hits rev limiter @ WOT!!
I have a '02 Qc with the 360 and it hits the rev limiter at WOT between 1-2 gears!! I know this has been discussed many time before, anyway the truck also twitches at about 40 -45 mph when OD engages and keeps doing that even on the freeway and ive replaced the tps.. and it didnt fix anything, also if i replaced my TC with one of better quality which one should i get im only running LT headers and a flowmaster muffler dumped before the rear axle oh and i have the stock 3.92 diff
the rev limiter can be solved by getting a chip. my superchip has the option of turning the rev limiter off. turning it off however, means that you can go over that "red zone" so keep an eye on your temps and everything else or bad things could happen.
Could be shift solenoid going bad or the tv cable needs adjusting(side of tb/cable from rear)
If you want a bit more performance but dont plan on adding a cam/m1 then go with a 2200stall tc. If adding say KRC210-KRC220 looking at 2500-2800stall. Anything bigger will need higher rpm stall. Ive got a 3800 stall with my 236/242.

What RPM is it reaching when the rev limiter kicks in? I'm just wondering if it's really maxing out RPM, or something else is happening. When I had a bad sensor, the computer would cut power like a rev limiter when I accellerated hard at mid range RPM.
Isn't the '02 a 3rd Gen? If so, you may want to try that forum.

in 2002-2003 chrysler put the 2nd gen 360's in these trucks and didnt start putting the HEMI till 2003.5, the 3rd gen guys always send me here whenever i ask questions about my engine and tranny, yea when i floor it itll bounce at about 5k may be a lil higher but if i let off itll go away, but the really the problem is that ive read the 45re TC has a problem with a twitch at highways speeds o i want a higher stall because i do plan to puta krc 210 cam but ive also heard the TC on these trannies are very weak
Have you dropped the pan? When mine started acting up it wouldn't hit red line but would rev up higher than it should before it would shift. When I dropped the pan I found the anchor for the forward band that goes between the band and band adjuster laying in the pan. This seems to be a very common issue with these transmissions. I had it put back in as some told me I might be able to get away with that and it fixed it enough for me to get about 2k miles or so more out of it but it never seemed exactly right after that and eventually felt like it didn't want to go when you tried to take off then all of a sudden would catch like it was slipping. Then it would just shift odd at times so I finally replaced it with a APS as it had gotten so I didn't want to drive it with the old one. IMO if that anchor is out plan on a rebuild soon. I don't know if I'd pay to have it put back in now that I know it didn't last. Another guy that had this happen on PS a little before I did fixed it and started having other problems too. If you can fix it yourself worth a shot.
Now this may not be your problem or have anything to do with it just saying I had it happen. I've read you shouldn't have a 2nd gear if it's out though so idk.
Anyway as for tq converters isn't Viper supposed to be one of the best? I like APS stuff and they make torque converters too as does Dr. Evil whom seems to be known for good quality Dodge transmissions.
BTW are you sure you have a 45re? The 2nd gens have a 46RE behind the 360. I Don't know about the 02 for sure but if it's the same as the 2nd gens it should be a 46RE.
