I'm pretty big on quieting rattles, squeeks and other noises in my vehicles--I prefer to hear the music I paid so much to get just right. For the past year or so, my armrests in my '96 Ram have been squeeking and groaning whenever I put any pressure on them at all--pretty annoying. I took out the plastic cup that forms the door pull today, and figured out a way to silence all the noise that was so simple, I thought I'd pass it along. All it took was a spray of silicon lubricant around the edges of the plastic pull. Silicon is plastic safe, and it completely eliminated all of the noise. Total project time less than 10 minutes.
