Default danger on the road

i had a serious thing happen to me the other day in my 94 1500.I was cruisin down the road and my truck fell to the left. When i got out to see what had happened my wheel was sitting sideways. My mechanic said that i broke a spindle, and that the bearing was in pieces , initialy causing the problem.Needless to say if i was going any decnt speed i wouldnt be here right now to write this.Should i be concerned here? is this common? should i investigate? thanks kindly michael

My buddy had his 95 ram do the same thing. he was turning around in a parking lot. Good thing he wasnt going down the highway. Makes you think though, huh?
