Default 01 AC compressor not engaging

Here comes the hot weather so I need to know why I have no AC. I thought it was odd that my usually noisy compressor clutches are not angaging. The pulley rotates fine and I checked all fuses and relays. Does anyone know what the deal is? Could it still be electrical, or is it possible that they clutches need replacement? (I have rebuilt a pushrod engine before, so I would imagine that with the right tools, I could probably do this. BTW - Sport off road Pkg, 5.9L with 97k. Thanks in advance.

Could be low on refrigerant.

Make a jumper wire with some either 12 or 14 gauge wire and a couple of alligator clips and remove the plug from the side of the accumulator/dryer. Clip the 2 clips to the wire ends of the plug you removed. If the compressor comes on then the freon is low. If not then there is another issue with your system. This is the low side pressure switch that will keep the compressor from burning up when the freon is low.
