Default Removing Differential Bolt?

Well ive developed a slow leak on the left front tire, about a drop once i move it. i tried checking the fluid level out but cant get the bolt out. i tried with an adjustable wrench and wont budge either way. Do i have to pull it out or get a socket. Its a square bolt so a socket probably wont work. Any ideas also what type of gear oil should i use? i know i have to fix the whole axle, but since i drive it once a week and my garage is not installed yet i figured i might as well keep it full. Thanks for the help in advance.

Its just a square headed bolt, its probably either just siezed in there a little bit or the guy before you might have cross threaded it. I'd just get a bigger crescent wrench or you can get a large square socket and do it with a breaker bar.
