Default need help asap

i was driving on the highwaylast night and my truck all of a sudden revved to 5000rpm so i pulled to the side of the road and tried shifting through gears but the truck wouldnt move. i let it sit on ther side of the road for abit then tried starting it and it started so i dont think theres anything wrong with the clutch, i tried shifting into first and let the clutch out slowly and it moved. i got it towed hoome and today i tried driving it and it feels like the transfer case is in 4low because i have to shift through gears rasther quickly and it will only go to like 30kmh in 3rd gear, anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

i think the transfer case is stuck in 4low because thgats about the speeds it goes throughout the gears and i tried putting the transfer case in neutral and the truck will still move in gear, anyone have ne ideas on how to fix this or do i need a new transfer case?

i would definately be pulling that transfercase off and checking it out... if its shifting through all gears then i would highly doubt that its your transmission... so i would start by draining the transfercase fluid to check and see what it looks like and then probly pull the transfercase and tear it apart... ive heard of this happening on electronic shifting transfer cases but never on a floor shifted one so something happened internaly more than likelly

I don't think it is the t-case. It would have ripped arpart with what you described as happened.

well i took the truck to a local 4x4 shop and they said that the shift fork inside the t-case wore down and broke and destroyed pretty much everything inside the t-case, so i got the t-case changed $2200 later
