Default help new forum member-dead truck, trouble codes

this will be the third time ive written this.

99 1500 5.2 2wd

changed the rear wheel speed sensor to fix the abs light, brake light, check engine light ,and no speedometer.
all fixed. no idiot lights are on now.

next day ...bam dead truck.

has fuel ,no spark anywhere. no voltage to coil.... checked coil in bosses identical truck...coil good
can hear fuel pump come on...have checked all fuses.

to access the codes its on,off,on,off,on,off,on right? is on run?right

dont have the money to just replace the crank sensor and see if that works, unless thats the concensus
of this forum.and it's a pita job from what i can see and read. cnat swap that outta bosses truckhe'd have a ****fit if he couldnt just hop in his truck whenever he needed to.

does the cps have a troble code or does it us the cel?

any help is appreciated. thanks

You can't do the on - off key trick on a 1999. At least it doesn't work on mine. I broke down and spent $40 bucks on a code reader.

Peter

Spend 15 on the Hayes or Cliton Manual. Very helpful at running down problems. If you have know spark. Then you got to work back from the plugs. Is you dist & rotor good? Wire from coil to dist? Coil Good??

The manual will help a lot.A code reader is helpful too.
