O2 sensor simulators and fires
I dropped my truck off at a Performance shop to get shocks put on. I told them I was getting an O2 simulator in small talk, and they said to be careful. All O2 sensor simulators were taken off the market due to them causing underhood fires. ANone else hear this? I don't want a fire again. Especially since I am moving to California (1600 mile trip) in two days. Any other advice except "buy a fire extinguisher."
I didn't have one on during my last fire. Has anyone else had a fireAND was running an O2 Sim? Anyone rnning an O2 sim and hasn't had a fire (please post and tell me your truck is fine)? Thats why i am making a post at 3 AM...i am losing sleep.

I have an O2 sim. It's an electronic device that makes the PCM think the Cat is operating correctly if you gut it or run a highflow cat: higher temp out than going inro the cat.
o2 sims causing fires is BS.
i'm not sure, but just a word of caution - if you're moving to California you may have trouble getting registration/emissions if everything's not stock or CARB compliant. ask someone from out there...
