So I was putting on my new ladder rack on my truck this weekend and my dad and I were just looking at the engine for a bit. I noticed that the battery was the original....its a 2001...which means 8 years and it still starts every time. Its starting to get weak by the corrosion starting to surround the negative battery post but for 8 years I'm impressed. My dad then popped the hood on the 2001 Durango they bought used five years ago and it was also still on its first battery. That makes two batteries with 16 years in Minnesota winters and all! :-)

 

I live in PA and I have an '01 ram also with the original factory battery... I cant believe it either but mine doesnt seem weak at all, starts strong every time... it is amazing...

I've got you all beat. I have a 2000 assembled in 12/99, still running on the original battery.

 

yeah it is pretty amazing....my battery was stamped sept. 00 and it just went last week....8 years also!!! weird though it showed no signs of getting weak it just went! But damn it was a long time

 

i got a 99 with 170xxx miles and i still run the original battery. it starts slow up here in northern MN in the cold winter days, but if i plug it in it starts every time. i cant even count how many times i had to jump my buddies 07 NBS chevy this winter. lol

 

yeah i have a 99 ram and just replaced the battery a couple months ago over 200000kms later

 

Have an 01 that had the factory but changed it for an optima. Still was strong but figured I would save myself the headache.

 

my ram is a 96. i dont think its the original battery, but its got 8 years on it.starter went before the battery did.

 

01 Ram in PA. Still on stock battery as well.
