No, no, no. The one I posted was the one you'd need for most 1994-2000 trucks. In 2001 they made some changes. You will need the 3" converter!

My exhaust setup, judging from your picture hometheaterman, was exactly the same as yours. You ordered the right part! My Meineke guy, who I always go to for this stuff, told me the exact same thing... that the part I needed was the 2 in, one out. But when they got it up and took a look, they discovered it was different than what the Meineke books state. As far as I know, its just some of the 2001s that are different.

If you want, I can show you the receipt where it says 3" converter and 3" Flowmaster Super 44. Just gotta find it in my filing cabinet. (Which isn't filed to well at the moment.)

The only time it is different is if the production date is a late 01,say 08/01 which would put it in the 02 category.

As I have stated,I have installed MANY of these on Ram's including 01's without problem.

If you look at the Magnaflow catalog, you will see that the 94037 fits this vehicle.Unless you have an engine code 5,which calls for a 95506

MeinekeMan1, I love Meineke, and those dates may be correct, but Hometheaterman should not use the 2-to-1 converter. No offense, but you're wrong about his setup.

Hometheaterman...

The picture you showed does not have a 2-to-1 converter. Look at it, does your current converter have two pipes going into it? No, it has a y-adapter pipe BEFORE the converter. Therefore, you need the 3" converter.

This is the one that my Meineke installed in mine (found the receipt with part numbers).

Summit says that part is no longer available, however, and this is the one that replaced it:

The first was not legal in California, I guess, and that second one is. Not sure of the difference other than that.

Here is the picture you showed of your stock setup...

And here's my setup with the Magnafow. Notice how the y-pipe is in front of the converter, just like yours?

After further intense inspection of your pics the 94109 is the one you need! The engine pipes are too close together for the 94037 to work so cancel if you can.

I type too slow so Jason has it right ! Although the 94109 can be used the better and easier fit would be the 95506.

The 94109 might fit as well, the difference between it and the 94009 is the 94109 is 3 inches shorter. Other than that, the same.

Im sorry,I must have missed that he psoted pics of his.I will look through this again.

If he does have eng code 5,then this would explain the difference in the cats.

Again,I missed where he posted pics of his system and am sorry for posting the wrong info.Guess I better read through all the posts before I post.LOL

No big deal. No offense intended either, its not your fault. The change must have not been well documented. My Meineke guy didn't know about it, so why would you?

EDIT: zman, the 95506 is longer, and only has 2.5" inlet/outlet. That would be smaller then the inlet, which means more restriction, how would that fit better or be better? If you see my pic, a 3" converter is a perfect size match for the y-pipe.

Well I bet he's really confused now! LOL By the time time he gets it taken apart and welded back together he could have just got a direct replacement magnalow and done it himself.

My bad Jason, I thought the 95506 had 3 " in and out. I just got the #'s confused.
