Default timing on a 318

is it possible to change the timing or check the timing on a 1995 obd 1 ram 4x4 w the 318?

It doesn't work like the old engines where you just turn the distributor.

You can buy a timing chain that has advances and retards slotted in, the PCM will partially compensate, but not totally. you cna also slot the crank sensor and move it back and forth in the bell housing to change the base timing as well. Won't net much but you can fool with it a little.

Why do you want to check the timing? Whats the problem that makes you think its timing.

Like he said, the computer does it.
