Truck runs like T-total $hit when cold, but when warm runs great?
Howdy fellas. Truck is a 95, 318 5-speed.
EXTREMELY cold natured. Very rough idle for about 10 seconds at start up (then smoothes out), but the truck runs like CRAP for about 5 minutes until the engine is warm. After that, it runs perfect and doesn't miss a lick.
I've changed the plugs on the truck twice, didn't change anything. As far as I know (bought the truck used with 147K) the coil is original, distributor is original, etc etc.
I also ran a seafoam treatment through the top end and while it did blow a TON of stuff out the exhaust, it didn't clear up the problem.
Any ideas on where I should start chasing this? The truck shouldn't run like crap just because it's not up to full operating temps.
Thanks

Get a new IAC for the initial sluggish start. Do a full tuneup Champion truck plugs, wires, coil and distributor, and get a new PCV valve for insurance.
Use dielectric grease on ALL connections. You might just be chasing after moisture.

Thanks a bunch guys. I'll be replacing the IAC and EGR first to see if that helps.

get original mopar cap & rotor... my experience showed me it worked the best overall.
another thing you could try is running Chevron's Techron fuel injection cleaner thru a tank of gas... (or 1/2 a tank for higher concentration). could be your injectors might be sticking some until warmed up.
next would be to clean the o2 sensor... using CRC electronic component cleaner... spray the exhaust opening holes real good & then reinstall. if it's not dead, it'll help extend it's life and improve it's performance.
