Default AirAid System

Just ordered the AirAid cold air intake system with the throttle body spacer. Hope this will get me some more power. Does anybody run this set up, also with the filter being in the engine capartment with all the hot heat won't this defeat the purpose of cold air? One more thing does the AirAid spacer whistle, I might like that if it does.
97 ram 1500 4x4 316 v-8

Any info will help,
Thanks

should of read "FIPK NO MORE" and if your just getting a spacer just for it to whistle ? its not money well spent but makes a nice paper weight..

+1. TB spacers in these trucks are a waste of money, do absolutely nothing for them. They are port injected. You just wasted money on a paperweight.

Yes, having an open filter inside the engine compartment on the end of a CAI is slightly defeating the purpose. A 14x3 open element setup would give you the same, or more, power for a lot less. The only way to go with a CAI is a fully enclosed one, or you can go with the 14x3, or a ram air setup.
