That's a good point engineblock. Kind of sucks though, I just replaced my headlights last week and was kind of hoping to lay low on buying stuff for the truck. But the red tail lights don't mesh well with the truck. It's all black and debadged and the red just looks like lollypops in the rear lol. Maybe I'll go do some searching for some black tail lights tonight and see what I can do. I remember when I owned my neon, which was 3 times slower than my truck, and cops would ticket me constantly. I haven't gotten one ticket in this truck and I've owned it for a year. It's way louder and quicker than my neon was, and cops still leave me alone. I've only been pulled over for tail lights being out with this truck, it's rediculous lol. I'll get some pictures up tomorrow of the truck with the red tail lights. They are very unflattering, especially because they are the non sport ones with the satin finished edge lol.

Not really liking any of the tail light options they have four our trucks. I hate altezzas and clear tail lights. This was the best "black" tail light I was able to find, what do you guys think? Is it a bit much or?

I don't like those. They wouldn't be bad if they didn't have the 2 round red reflectors. I just don't like those. I say just get some sport ones and stay stock. Or tint the factory ones but you may then run into legal issues still. Even with half that eBay stuff a lot of it isn't DOT approved so you still may run into issues. Those say they are but who knows.

Honestly the only tail lights I've seen that I like better than stock are the TYC ones. They are expensive but imo really look good.

Yeah, I am not crazy about them either, they don't really offer nice tail lights for our trucks. I think I'm just going to have my tail lights painted where it's satin, and put a slight coating of nightshade on them and call it even.

What state are you guys in? Down here in GA they need a warrant to check your vehicle, except for tint!

I honestly think that will be one of the better looking options. I think the TYC ones might look a little better but I just did a search on eBay and don't even see them listed on there anymore. So they may be hard to find.

I live in Maine. It's not too bad up here, but it's not perfect either.

On another note, does anybody here have a set of black sport tail lights they would be willing to sell me? It might be cheaper to buy them if somebody can give me a deal. It'd be very helpful, thank you.

Most states require a warrant or permission by owner, EXCEPT for probable cause. For example, they see empty beer cans on the floorboards. That gives them probable cause to believe they you were drinking in the car, therefore, they can search it. Or if a drug dog smells something from outside the car, that gives them probable cause to search it.

And some states, if you are on state property (for example, a school or state university), require no probable cause or warrant/permission to search a vehicle if it is unlocked. They can conduct a random search at will for no reason if its unlocked.
