Default Hit and Runs

How many of you guys have left your truck in a parking lot (at work, at the mall, whatever), went into do whatever you came to do for however long, and came out to find a nice, new dent, clearly visible? And I'm not talking a "door bang" here, but a clear cut case of hit and run.

Here's one I got yesterday.

Its worse than the picture shows, I took it at a bad angle. Someone was pulling out/into a space and hit me pretty hard. Thank God they didn't do it a little more forward and take out my headlight assembly.

Hasn't happened to me ever, occasional door ding, but never on the truck. That really is a shame.

Consider yourself lucky. I had a hit and run on my Dakota before I traded it in too... someone backed into it, dented the chrome bumper (and that thing was a HARD bumper, someone had to have hit it good) and bent the passenger side tailpipe at a slight angle (I had duals exiting straight out the back).

And my wife's 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been keyed... TWICE now, and of all places, the hospital where she works at. They didn't even wait for us to fix the first key scratch before someone did it again, right above of the original.

Yeah, door dings are a part of life, unfortunately. Someone with a crappy car always parks next to you, who doesn't care about their car, let alone anyone else's, and just throws the door open right into the side of your truck.

I'm like motor I park far away I also take up 2 spots if I can, I'd rather walk then try to squeeze in to the truck when people park too close. I don't have a problem leaving a crease in someones door but I try to avoid it.

jason, I have a dent just like yours, in the exact same spot as yours. How hard do you think it will be to fix it.

I have no idea. Today after work (or tomorrow when I have the day off), I'm going to go visit some paintless dent people and see what, if anything, can be done that way, and how much. Also see if they can do a touch-up paint job on that bit of rust there as well.

Its in a pretty bad spot, I think, for that kind of dent removal, but we shall see.

I've been hit on my front bumper twice when parking in parking lots. The first time just left a big black smudge from the car that did it, and the second time bent my bumper down just slightly. Both times, I never knew who did it, they ran.

2 weeks ago; Dad's dakota hit and slid into my ram. Total hit and run, but the BLUE HONDA left their emblem and part of their front fender from this wack.
