Default spark plug question

i've been reading alot about the spark plugs used in our rams, currently mine has the "factory" installed champions with cheap 7mm wiresin there. i was looking at the championRC11YC plugs and wondering if that would be a good choice to go with my accel 8mm wires and accel cap & rotor. sorry if this looks like a re run again. EDIT the current plug is RC12YC or something

A lot of guys run the Autolite 3923s I believe. A heat range colder than stock, and work well. The Champion Truck Plugs (forget part number) are also good.

Almost any 8mm wire, I think, is better than stock. I used what I could get locally, the 7mm Autolite Professional wires, but if you can get your hands on an 8mm, do it. Accel wires are good.

I had 3924's and they ran ok, I didn't really know any better, but i went and got some of those rc12yc plugs your talking about, the stock ones, and they run a little bit better. Next up for me will be the 3923's and then after that the truck plug. NGK is a good plug brand, but like you said, you can read and read about opinions for days. I'd just particularly stay away from Bosch. AC Delco doesn't have much of a following either. I don't know if they're bad or not, just not commonly used as much as Autolite and Champion.

I have summit's 8mm wires and they work lol. But I have yet to try anything other than stock so that's all the input I can really offer. Ya can't go wrong with MSD, as long as you have the wallet size for them.

I ran the Autolite 3923's and after a month just seemed to not be exactly right. I put Champions in and like them much better. My buddy that used to work at the Dodge Dealer and Advance before that said Dodges don't seem to like Autolites and seem to foul them fairly often. I don't know if this is true or not but kind of seemed to go along with my experience. He said to stick with Champion plugs in the Dodges. I went back to stock plugs for a while then this last time put Champion Platinum plugs in. I like them too. Some seem to have okay experiences with the Autolites some don't have good experiences. I didn't really like them.

As for wires I like the MSD 8.5mm wires. Those are the set I've run the last time times. On my Honda I have a set of Taylor Tundervolt 8.2mm wires and like them too. I'd stick with teh MSD wires. They cost a little more but are good. As for the cap and rotor I use the Napa brand with the brass terminals on the cap.

I'm with aim4squirrels, 94ramsey. I'm on my second set of Champion Truck Spark Plugs. I have a 98 QC 2wd 360 and I tow a Fifth wheel camping trailer.
I have tried a lot of different spark plugs over the 10 years I've own this truck. If they come with Champion keep Champion plugs in your truck. The truck plug is just a better -tougher plug.

They work.

cheers

that max life stuff is good. and cheap lol. 12 bucks for a gallon of it at wal mart, throw in that qt or so of restore and your good to go.

i'll go with the 4071's when i change out my RP oil after 3 grand, along with a better oil filter, probably from wix.
