Default 1391 ENGINE CODE

well, i pulled the timing chain cover ...1/2 inch of slop in the chain, side to side

but if u spin the camsahft to takeup the slack, its only 1/16 approx, dodge says 1/8 is the replacement interval


any other ideas sure would help if you know y i am still gettin gthis code

That code is for cam or crank position sensor "Intermitent loss of signal". And a half inch is alot. There should be almost no play! Replace it and you'll be good to go.

BTW you want to turn the crank for that check, not the cam.

i know and read a service builitin that said it is critical that the Cam senor pulse be prior to the crank pulse and the difference isonly like .2 degress or something crazy small like that.....well if there is slop in the chain the cam pulse would be late...might even be after the crank pulse

im not sure if this is gonna fix the problem....but either way....id rather replace it before the piston hits a valve

so im suppost to spin the crank? ill try that and see what it is
