Default Towing Capacity

Anyone know what the towing capacity is for a 95 ram, std cab, short bed, 4x4 with tow package and 5.2L motor?

I cant seem to find the capacity for my exact combination and would rather not assume. Thanks in advance guys

Don't I know it. I am just trying to get a handle on the exact capabilities more for comparison than anything else (looking at a new truck).

I have been playing with a used Ram 1500 and a Dakota, both 2005. I just wanted hard numbers to argue with the used car dealer. (They hate numbers [sm=smiley20.gif])

I tow whatever will move behind my 5.2, the 5 speed makes all the difference though The biggest I've ever moved was a 8000 lbs tractor, took abit to get up to speed, but once I hit 60 I was just fine

you will never really get any solid numbers other than the GVWR (mine is 6400 lbs) no dealer will admit to anything over that. Anything over your gvwr is considered beyond the manufacter specs.

Hell theres a guy who lives by me who pulls loaded hay wagons (about 4 tons) with a suzuki samuri. My friend has a F-250 powerstroke and routinely pulls 30,000 lbs.

book states 12500 for 5.2 and 5.9 w/auto and reg cab short bed. That is GCVW and states maximum trailer of 8100. Whether it could do it or not, i dont know. But i have seen crazier things.
