Dumb question
Ok, I know im gonna get flamed for this question....
How do I know if I have ABS or not? I swear ive slammed on the breaks a couple of times,, well not slam slam, but on ice etc, and I didnt feel the tick-rattle that comes with ABS like it does on my wife's car.

You probably only have rear wheel AL . that noise is usually from the front. Same with my wifes tracker, it has four wheel abs and makes that noise in the front only.
BTW the rear works through the VSS and front you would have wires going to the hub/bearing assemblies.

WOW-who ever said theres no such thing as a dumb question should be shot....cuz damn. haha NAHHH im just kidding with ya bro, when you start your truck, look at your idiot lights(dashboard lights) ABS should flash when you turn your key to ignition.
Ive been wondering the same thing, it says i have abs but my tires lock up when i slam on breaks, i even got in an accident because i locked up. Ive never once felt the taping or clicking of abs but "i have it"

That could be it, im going to have to look into this more. I know im tired of looking at my abs light thinkin that i have it and then it not working when i need it. Mine just might need to be fixed anyhow because ive never had it not lock on me under "holy **** breaking"
Yep ive got wires goin to them, so i guess i have it. Ill just have to look up what ive got with my vin. Were just gonna keep goin back and forth in all these topics huh.

Well you need to have it scanned. But you can check a few things like the wiring and connectors, make sure the hub bearings are not toast and your calipers are sliding freely on the pins.
