Default Another cosmetic blemish ot the truck.

Basically I know I will probably get flamed for this and all you guys will more than likely think it's stupid but I just wanted to rant. Anyway I was driving down the road today through the neighborhood and there is this low hanging tree. It's low hanging but never hit anything before. Well, I went under it and next thing I know I hear the magnetic mount cb antenna get knocked off the roof. No big deal it's happend before. I did notice it was hanging beside the truck this time instead of laying on the bed cover like usual. Well, by the time I got to where I could stop I went to put it back up on the roof and noticed I know have 3 about quarter sized dings in my rear quad cab door. Sure this isn't a big deal for most but I like keeping my truck looking nice. These really stand out too even from far away tonight I saw them where the light hit them. They just really are bothering me. Atleast one of them has the paint chipped a little in the middle I'm not sure about the other two. I noticed the tree has a branch hanging extremely low. This thing should have been trimmed by vdot 3 months ago. I'm surprised it didn't hit the top of the truck. It may have but didn't hard. I'm thinking it must have hit the cb antenna around the base as usually it doesn't fall off. Anyway I can't decide if I will get a quote to get these dings fixed or just leave them. I will probably just leave them but they really are bugging me. I have a few other dings and dents in the truck but none were on this door. I really want to get the truck painted and all the little imperfections taken out. While it isn't in horrible shape it does have a few things that cars get over the years and a dent in one door where a buddy slammed it open too hard and it pulled a dent in. I really want to get it painted but I can't see dishing out that kind of money when if I keep driving it will probably look like this in a year or two again. I don't know how people keep cars spotless without any dings or scratches. I guess they just keep getting them fixed. I know thats how my aunt and uncle are where anytime it gets the tiniest scratch they have to get it fixed. She showed me one time one she was going to get fixed and when she went to show me it took her literally a minute or two to find it and it was maybe the width of a fingernail if that. I know you can't keep cars perfect but I don't want mine to be beat to crap.

Oh well, I guess that's the end of my rant.

Amen to that Will. I'm the same way. The littlest things like that bother me. I've always been **** about the small things. I would defiantly check out what it would be to have them taken out. If it were me, I'd have somebody go around the entire truck and whip you a quote up together of what it would be to take out the imperfections you don't care for. As for a paintjob, I think that is a bit extensive. Your truck is too new for a paintjob, and is in great shape. I think a truck needs to at least be 10 years old before it can be looked at for a fresh paint job. I'm the exact same way though. I feel like at least if I'm going to be defying gas prices and driving this silly truck around all the time, I at least need to pleed my case of having a great looking truck lol. Our trucks our older, but when they are clean, they fit in with the newer trucks still. I really wouldn't freak out about it though. Honestly, when people see trucks with big tires they expect to see some dings. Your truck is the exception though, it's got big tires, and is in immaculate condition. Just go and get the dings checked out, it will probably be about $3-500 to get them all taken out around the truck, but should bring your truck back to perfect once more.

I'm thinking if it's in that price range it may be worth it to pay out of pocket. If much more than that I may be giving insurance a call. Thats if I even do anything about it in the long run. I had a quote for another dent and was told $175 to take that out. I want to do it but at the same time there is a lot else I could do to it for $500.
