im looking to build my 360 into a 408 and right now i got a nv3500 5 speed transmission and im kinda worried about weather it could take the power and abuse... so i was thinking about trying to mate an nv4500 from behind a cummins or a v10 to it... does anyone know anything about doing this im pretty sure i can get a bell housing from somewhere but im just looking for some opinions here before i get to involved

 

i have gone through 2 of them if u plan on ripping gears alot it wont handle it i would go with the nvg4500 the 3500 is only rated at what a 5.2l puts out torque wise thats why the 5.9s dont come with a stick i would find a 5.9 stick out of a 2500 and take the trans thats what i want to do when i build my engine

 

Yeah, I'd definitely go with a 4500, the 3500 is a good tranny, its just not rated for that kind of abuse.

 

well i already have a 2500 with a 5.9 that started out as an automatic with a 46re and when that went bad i put in a 3500... so does anyone know how i could get a 4500 to mate up to my 5.9 block?? cuz the pattern on for the bell housings are different from a 3500 to a 4500 arent they? i know the 4500 has a removable bell housing though
