Noises in the Front End???????????
My truck has been making a ticking noise on the front drivers side of my 95 2wd Ram. There is nothing stuck in the tire or anything simple like that. Could it be a wheel bearing, U-joints. The tick changes with the speed of the truck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Maybe a wheel bearing.......but more than likely a rock stuck in your wheel is making the noise.
It has happened to me before a small rock gets stuck in the wheel everytime it turns over the rock makes a noise....drives you crazy till you find it.

Thanks for the replies. I don't think there is anything in the wheel because I just took off my 20's and put the factory ones back on and the ticking was with both sets of wheels. I jacked the drivers side up and the wheel is not loose and the lug nuts are all tight. What other symptoms would you notice if you had a bad wheel bearing?
your truck would drag to the side of the bad bearing. Possible loss of gas milage. The drag may not be huge. You said you have 20's, if they are not back spaced correctly they will apply an abnormal pressure to the wheel bearing causing it to wear prematurely. Just change the bearings shouldnt take too long and i dont think they are very expensive. I may be wrong though. Does it click on smooth surfaces, rough, turning?

The truck was making the tick way before I put the 20's on the truck. I didn't have them on but like 5000 miles. As far as dragging or poor gas mileage everything seems normal except the tick. It ticks on all surfaces. You do have to build up some speed before you can hear it. I might take the truck in to the local shop to get the bearing checked out. Thanks.
I have jacked the driver side up and spun the tire around, but it doesn't make any noises. The wheel is not loose either. It just ticks when there is weight on the tire. I have also started noticing a whining roar coming somewhere from under the truck. Could this associated with a bad bearing?
this is ironic, because I also have a 95 2WD Ram that makes that same noise, from the same location (front driver's side).....and it is definitely not a rock in the tire. Now I know that I'm not going crazy and hearing things.
