Never really consideredmy Indy a daily driver
Backing into a snow bank or rubbing the exhaust while crawling/offroading could cause a weld to break possibly.

I was just specualting that maybe your headers have lasted so much longer because it's not your DD, so they don't have as many hours on them.

anybody here run the gibson shorties? I think Shott has an uncoated set. Might be worth the extra $100 over the edelbrocks if they last. The 1 1/2" primary might match the 5.2 better than the 1 5/8" primary on the edelbrocks on a mildly modded truck like we're running, Silver.

I had the gibsons and never had an issue with them (after they were done "breaking in")

Didnt you have issues with these headers when you 1st got them? or was that Shot8283? [&:]

The product sheet that came with my new ones say they are apparently 1 1/2" now. They must have changed them since I bought the first pair 3 years ago.

That was shott, and that was the Edelbrock ti-tech coated TES headers, not the silver ceramic shorty headers.

Im with aim4,those 1.5 primaries are probably a better choice onyour 5.2.
Yeah, only have about 45k mileswith the TES on, butthat 45k equals about 135k miles of normal driving

ive got gibson shorties, no problems with them. Havent had them on for three years yet (going on one come this august) but they seem to be holding up well with stage 8 locking boltz. Only thing that pissed me off with them was that when i installed them i covered them in black high temp paint, well that burned off quite quick, i think the paint that was put on the headers wasnt high temp so it just took the high temp paint right off. Ash and horrible smell for an hour but after that, everythign was fine, headers look pretty good still too.

I have no idea. The plug on that cylinder looked great, just like all the rest.
