mandrel bent vs. traditional bend exhaust
My truck is just to quiet for me so I have decided to purchase a dual exhaust off of e-bay with a flowmaster 44 from here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...id=p2759.l1259
My only question is, is it worth to pay the extra $20 and have the pipes mandrel bent for better flow or is it something that I would not really notice. Will the aluminized pipes hold up alright I only plan on keeping the truck for another year so should they be alright not rusting over anytime soon? Anyone have experience with these exhaust kit's? Thanks for the help.

mandrel bent is great if you drag or are producing major power. Doesn't really matter for a stock truck. IMO mandrel bent pipe looks better though if you have any exposed bends you can see from the outside.
Aluminized pipe will get you a few years.

Its more of a preference I guess. Yes mandrel will flow better and may keep your pipes cooler in those bends, but if your wallet is a little on the low side, I surely wouldn't mind throwing the traditional bent ones on my truck if it came down too it. On the other hand.... its 20 dollars lol. As far as the aluminumized pipes, they will rust. Mine are rusting (my super 44 is pretty bad) only after a year. If you plan on keeping the truck for a good while and dont feel like replacing your exhaust every few years, you might want to look into magnaflows stainless steel pipes. It comes at a heavier price tag as well though. just my 2c

Spend the $20 and get the mandrel bent pipe it sounds a little cleaner in tone and gets the exhuast out quicker. The fastter you get air in and get it out as far as N/A is concerned the more efficent the engine will become thus gaining milage and power.
