Default oil pan gasket leak

today i was changing my u-joints in my driveshafts and i noticed oil on one of my crossmembers. so i inspected further to find that it looks like it coming from under the harmonic balancer. so now i need to drop the pan and change the gasket. and i might as well do the oil pump while im in there. whats intaled in dropping the pan. it looks like i can just drop it with no real work involved is this the case?

Ok, I'm loosing transmission fluid and is in the rear of the transmission. Is it possible to be the same problem? Thefront seal of the crankshaft? In this case, can I performance this job by myself or is very difficult?
