Default Unsure, which Magnaflow?

Can anybody help me here? In my attempt to tone it down a little bit, I'm trying to choose a new muffler. The 50 and 70 series flowmasters make me nervous because they are very big and don't have good flow. Does anybody know which magnaflow muffler I should go with that will still be loud but pretty much not there on the highway? I have a gutted cat and longtube headers, so I know I have to go a little bigger to achieve the highway silence. Help would be appreciated, thanks guys.

Unfortunately with the gutted cat,any muffler will be louder than it would have been with a functioning cat on it.

The 70 series Flows are quieter than the 40 and 50 series.

Also, the bigger you go(i.e. tubing diameter, cat inlet outlet, etc) the louder it will be.My suggestion is to either install a high flow cat, which will give you good performance and low end power,or if you insist on keeping the gutted cat,try downsizing the piping under there. This will lessen the flow of the exhaust which will also lessen the sound.

Cool skyline, went with the 5x8x18. It's the same size as the flowmaster 50 series, but should flow better, and be a little more quiet because magnaflow is generally less loud than flowmaster. Just bought it for $65 from 21stcenturyexhaust, I'm pretty excited.

So you bought the magnaflow 5x8x18 too right? Please post some videos up of it when you get it on? You have the longtube headers and no cat as well right?

I just dropped in a flowmaster original 40... it's loud and has a wicked rumble! for $70 it was worth it!

I cam off my headers right behind my downstream o2 sensor and cut off the entire stock exhaust! then put this 3" in/out beast of a muffler on with a 3" turndown... sounds bad Ace!

I have a 30" magnaflow on my diesel and it sounds perfect IMO... the flow is alot different than the gasser so I'd assume that choosing the one you did will tone it down some. I picked the 30" jst for that reason...
