Default Death Flash Question

1. I have the sticker, is that all I need to know? (ie there arent any numbers to worry about)

2. Truck is basically going to suck no matter what I do unless I get a hypertech/superships/ect programmer?

3. Basically any programmer (not the lame piggyback chips) will work?

Thanks AGAIN for helping me figure it out.

1. Yes, I believe thats correct.
2. Not necessarily suck, but definitely not at its most potential.
3. See below...

SCT tuner is the way to go if you want the best mileage tune, towing tune, and performance tune. They are the most expensive though, at $500-$600 usually. But they do not charge for tweaking your tunes in the future after an upgrade unless you throw a supercharger or something really big in there.

Hypertech and Superchips I have heard are OK, B&G custom flash is supposed to be better, but the SCT is the best.

It's a 99. If you have that flash the plenum gasket is shot!

plenum, heads, o2 sensors, cat, all WERE shot
i have done pretty much anything you can think of short of gearing, rockers, and TB
im not looking to pull a house off its foundation, but the truck should be capable of towing a decent amount with a 5.9

Look at getting a Fastman TB. Allows your truck to breathe a lot more. Noticeable improvement, especially at highway speeds.

point of my post was, a fastman TB is only going to be polishing a turd, isnt it?

I have done sufficient mods to open it up, besides, stock power should be enough to tow a 20ft travel trailer

If they do it because the plenum gasket is shot, does that mean I should have it reversed after replacing the gasket???

There is no reversal, not sure if they cant or just wont, hence my question.

This $5 gasket that the dealer didnt want to replace has cost me way too much money already, pretty dissapointing.

I do not believe that is correct, should say something like authorized software update, and it will be a sticker on top of the original one.
