my friend says his stock 93 ford with a 4.9 i-l can out pull my 98 ram with a 360 3:73 gearsand dana axles

4.9L with Auto and 3.55 can tow up to 5500lbs.

But he might be able to out run you!

From what I've found his truckisrated at5300lbs and yours is rated at 5200lbs. But your truck has 100 more hp and 80 more lb-ft of torque. I've got a 2001 5.9 and its rated for 7150lbs for towing. I know they upgraded the brakes in 2000 so maybe your brake capacity is all thats holding you back on tow capacity. Can anyone else chime in on this?

f-it your right guys, just hook'em up. yank that 8.8 right out from under him. my buddy at work (whos a die hard ford fan)has one of those with a v8 and he wouldn't hook up to me.

If it was my dodge it would be lights out if it hooked up to a chevette my turd can't pull or even think of turning the tires over all it does is bog and not due little of anything till 2600rpm
